As part of the Supply Chain & Operations team, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping tomorrow's supply chains and operations, driving positive impacts on businesses, society, and the planet. We're looking for a Manager with a solid background in strategy consulting and supply chain & operations projects, particularly focusing on transportation and distribution. Your role will involve practical experience in moving, storing, and transporting materials and goods across various modes, including truck, rail, barge, marine, and air.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation and Distribution Strategy:

  • Lead the development and implementation of logistics strategies optimizing transportation and distribution operations.

  • Collaborate with teams across One Accenture to define strategic objectives and KPIs for transportation and distribution.

  • Utilize data analytics to identify opportunities for improving forecast demand, routing optimization, and cost reduction.

  • Provide clients with insights on logistics benchmarks and industry best practices.

  • Conduct assessments of current logistics operations to identify areas for improvement.

  • Perform root cause analysis to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.

  • Develop actionable recommendations for process improvements and technology enhancements.

Operational Excellence:

  • Provide guidance on optimizing material flow and integration between transportation and storage solutions.

  • Advise on standardized operating procedures to improve efficiency.

  • Streamline receiving, storage, and order fulfillment processes.

  • Implement inventory optimization strategies to minimize costs.

  • Assess and optimize distribution center and warehouse operations.

  • Review facility layout and design to maximize efficiency.

  • Identify opportunities for automation and robotics.

  • Implement performance measurement systems to track key KPIs.

Practical Implementation:

  • Apply practical experience in supply chain environments to solve complex logistics challenges.

  • Ensure optimal utilization of transportation and storage resources.

Technology and Trends:

  • Stay current on transportation and fulfillment trends and emerging technologies.

  • Research and recommend advanced technologies to enhance logistics operations.

Leadership and Development:

  • Lead by example, setting a high standard for the team.

  • Coach, mentor, and train junior consultants.

  • Be hands-on when needed to support the team and clients.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including transportation providers and warehouse managers.

  • Communicate complex logistics concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management, with a focus on transportation and distribution.

  • Proven track record of implementing logistics strategies and process improvements.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

  • Leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor junior team members.

Preferred Experience:

  • Familiarity with recognized strategy frameworks and techniques.

  • Experience with digital supply chain and fulfillment technologies.

  • Experience in strategic cost reduction and responsible supply chain practices.

  • Industry experience in logistics, transportation management, and warehouse management.

Set Yourself Apart:

  • Awareness of supply chain technology and digital disruptors.

  • Experience with PC Miller, Project 44, Breakthrough Fuel, etc.

  • Industry experience in fulfillment logistics and transportation operations.

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York or Washington as set forth below.
